Election Day Prayer and Meditation Times

The rhetoric of US election on November 5th has created concerns and anxieties for the future of the country. As we, as people of faith, participate in the civic responsibility of voting, we do so centering ourselves through prayer in the abiding love of God and the hope we have in the fellowship of our community. There are two opportunities to come to the Metropolitan Memorial campus on November 5th for a time of reflection and prayer for our wider community and the nation.

At noon -1 pm in the Great Hall, a sound bath of crystal singing bowls and chimes will be accompanied by loving kindness meditation. Sound baths can be a relaxing mediative experience in which one is surrounded by the sound waves of different tones. One is encouraged to bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, or pad to lay down upon during the experience.

From 5 pm-7pm, the main Sanctuary of the Metropolitan Memorial campus will be open for persons looking for a space for personal prayer and reflection. Materials will be available to guide one's reflection and prayer in the space.
