Funerals

“To live is to be marked. To live is to change, to acquire the words of a story, and that is the only celebration we mortals really know.”
— Barbara Kingsolver, The Poisonwood Bible

National UMC and our pastoral team are here to help you honor your loved one's legacy with a "celebration of life" service.

So that we may have time, space, and pastoral counseling resources to devote to members of our congregation in their times of need and grief, we generally do not conduct funerals or memorial services for non-members. However, you may contact Dona Collary to inquire.

For our members, there is a beautiful outdoor columbarium adjacent to the Sanctuary of the Metropolitan Memorial Campus.  A columbarium is a lovely and dignified place in which to lay a person’s ashes to rest, and for family to find peace.

Funeral receptions may be held at the church.  There are fees associated with holding any funeral or memorial service at the church.
