Confirmation — Spring 2026

Every other year, our youth participate in the confirmation process. It is a series of classes and excursions which culminate in the youth becoming official members of the church. Confirmation is open to all youth 6th grade and older.

  • Confirmation marks the time when a baptized Christian becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The United Methodist Church. (If a student has not been baptized, we can work with Rev. Janet to ensure that they are on or before Confirmation Sunday) Confirmation is not a test a youth has to take— it is a chance for them to test the church to ensure see if it aligns with their beliefs as they grow up.

At the end of the program, a youth will decide if they want to join the congregation or not. If they decide not to get confirmed in May of 2026, they can join at a later date.

  • In the Spring of 2026, the Confirmation class will meet from 5-7pm at the Metropolitan Memorial Campus. A Hybrid option will we available for students who cannot make it in person, however, in person attendance is strongly encouraged.

The dates of Confirmation Class Meetings are:

    • February 1st, 2026

    • February 15th, 2026

    • March 1st, 2026

    • March 8th, 2026 — Optional Sunday Morning Pilgrimage to Old Otterbein UMC in Baltimore (More Details Soon)

    • March 15th, 2026
