The Rick Alberico Jazz Project

Audience-favorite Rick Alberico and his merry band of players are returning to Jazz@Wesley. The Rick Alberico Jazz Project performs straight-ahead jazz featuring a dynamic blend of bebop, blues, ballads, and original compositions.

Rick is known for expressing the call of his soul through his horn, and — with his Jazz Project — he brings together an amazing selection of top musicians. Last year, Rick and crew got a heartfelt standing ovation from a grateful audience. Don’t miss out!

Tickets are available on the night of the show at the door. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

Meals Available for Purchase: $15

Menu: Jerk chicken, baked chicken, turkey chili, and Vegan chili. Meals come with a salad, rice, beverage, and dessert. A la carte items available.

Location: Wesley Campus, National United Methodist Church, 5312 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20015. (Located a few blocks north of Politics and Prose.) Map and Directions

Enter from Connecticut Avenue, through the glass doors (not the red doors). Look for the neon “Jazz@Wesley” sign.


FAQs

Is there parking in the area? There is ample street parking in the area, either on Connecticut Avenue or on the side streets of Jenifer or Jocelyn.

Can I take public transportation? Yes. The nearest metro stops are either Van Ness or Friendship Heights on the Red Line. It’s a 20-minute walk from either station. The L2 Metro bus line runs on Connecticut Avenue and stops near the church. Exit from the Van Ness Metro station for the L2.

Is Jazz@Wesley accessible? Jazz@Wesley is wheelchair accessible. An elevator is available to the concert hall.

Can I bring my children? This is a family-friendly show. Children are welcome. Crayons and coloring books are available, and a playground outside the church is suitable for 2-5-year-olds.

Can I bring a bottle of wine or other alcohol to the concert? Jazz@Wesley is held in a church, so no alcohol is allowed on the premises (and none is sold during the show).

Known professionally as Tiya! this DC native’s talent has enabled her to perform with an array of well-known bands and musicians across the globe. What a night! The Blues Brothers featuring Tiya! were here April 27. They did not disappoint. There were sax solos, guitar riffs, a surprise performance from In Process, dancing in the aisles, and Tiya! blessing us with her considerable talent. It was a funky good time.
