STORIES: A Community Gathering Monthly Series
STORIES is a community gathering series centered on the art of sharing and listening. In small groups of neighbors, participants are invited into a slow, intentional space — a welcome contrast to the noise and distraction of daily life — where every voice belongs and every experience matters.
Through simple, lightly structured prompts (a cherished object, a floor plan of a childhood home, a road trip, a brief encounter, etc.), participants discover what is always true but easily forgotten: that our stories connect us across difference, dissolve isolation, and reveal the common ground beneath our different lives.
Where: St. Luke’s Mission Center, 3655 Calvert Street, NW
Dates: Second Thursdays of the month, 6:30—8 PM
Registration is required. To participate in a session.
September 10: BRING AN OBJECT that represents something meaningful in your life — something that brings you joy, reminds you of someone, or marks a special time or place. Tell the story behind it. Share group learnings and insights.
*Accessibility Information: Building entry is fully wheelchair accessible. If you have accessibility questions or need assistance, please reach out to us at communications@nationalchurch.org, Subject: Stories.
